Twilight in Action

Lunacon
I ran Zombies at Lunacon (6 players who wanted to try 4), The Haunting House (with expansion - 4 players) and All Wound Up ( 2 players who liked the cute wind up zombies). All of the players had a good time. Zombies went slowly due to the harder to hit dogs, but the Cabin was quite neatly placed in the middle of the board so people kept dying and running right back towards the cabin.
Haunting House got some good responses due to the chaotic nature of the game, and All Wound Up came off quite postively (we got a nice crowd as the zombies walked around bumping into each other and falling off the tiles).

I-Con
I-Con had a boardgaming track for the first time this year and it went off quite well with over 60% games running. The Zombies event I was asked to run went off well with a full 6 players and I gave out the last of the Zombies promo cards to the eager players. These players went to the school at Stony Brook and were putting some of the cards into their Zombies decks already. The consensus was that the promo cards were unbelievably evil. They couldn't wait to use it, and asked me to include one in the game they played. I happily obliged. :)

Kindercare Daycare Centers
This was actually a two-parter. In the morning we were at one location with mostly 4-8 year olds and in the afternoon we went to visit some older kids. I was helping someone whose wife worked at the morning location.
The morning went well and the kids really enjoyed All Wound Up. The director of the center was very excited to see it and The Haunting House. She's planning to try both at Origins (she's a non-gamer married to a very serious gamer).
The afternoon was harder. We managed to get in The Haunting House and most of a game of Zombies 4. The kids weren't really expecting us and it seemed the workers weren't either. I don't think they really ever understood why we were there.

WE ROCKED!
The Salem Midnight Crew2 took the game room by storm.
Friday afternoon, we sat down to check out Dante's Inferno. It was just us...7 guys sitting around a table, reading rules and checking out the FAQ's and someone stopped by to check it out, then another and soon the only original player was myself. 2 games, and 4 hours later, the game room chair asked us to start our other games... Ooops, lost track of time...
3 of the best received games that we ran: Frag Zombies!!!, Massive Zombies!!! and a pick up game of Zombies!!! Saturday night, 8 pm, while LARPs wandered about, RPGer's slaying wimpy dragons and Munchkins beating each other up, WE ARRIVED.
Poster attached to a picture frame, held in front of us, we marched into the game room to 15 people wanting to play Massive Zombies!!!, 8 others for Frag Zombies!!!. We grabbed 6 for a pick up game at another table, sat 8 at the main table.
What a great Massive Zombies!!! game. It doesn't quite work, but we tried like heck to fix things on the spot. The players didn't care. The dogs not being able to cross the bridge was a pain, until someone created a breach from the garage to the graveyard, then we yelled "who let the dogs out" and the body count started to climb. The winner? Marcus Evenstar, whom fought his way to the Armory, and used the Rocket Launcher to gain the last 9 Zombies he needed to win... total of 26 Zombies and a copy of "Say What?" (He also got the signed card from you guys... I think he was more than a bit surprised!) Zombies!!! Yo! cards all around!
The Frag Zombies!!! went into "sudden death". Lots of neat ways to kill Zombies!!! and have to leave the mess. We had lots of fun with that one. Winner... Well, I never did get his name, but he got a copy of Frag! It was a noisy, wacky, fun game. We also had 2 other folks stop by and tell us that they had rules for it that their groups had come up with. We're following up to try and get them. We'll post them as we do.
The Pick-up game went almost as long as Massive Zombies!!! The guys and gals knew what to do and whom to do it to. They stopped each other with an unholy glee. Bodies here, bodies there and most of them dead and moving.
I thought that I had put in my "roll only 1's" dice for a while...then 2 of the 3 girls joined forces and won. "The Keys are Still in it" and "Why don't we go someplace more private" onto the Helopad, during a "Alternate Food Source" play. It was well done.
By the way, we did get to try the new game of All Wound Up. Demo'ed by a store owner. It looks Interesting. We made some nose to make sure folks stopped by the table, but we also had a couple of Games of Gloom, Lunch Money and oh, yeah, Munchkin to kick off...

Dragon Flight
Wow, Dragonflight is over and the recovery time is still slowly coming.
A massive 8 player Zombies!!! Midnight Madness went off without many problems. The players were all old hands at the game and the DM sat back and let them play. The winner of the game, Jeremy Baduex, did a 25 Zombie kill win. The players were ready to rumble and their play reflected that. I only wish that I had had a second set, I had enough folks stop by and want to play, that I put together a game of Hidden Conflict.
The play was fast and funny. We used everything but fourth set. The big round table was almost large enough to hold the game. The crowd was too darn quite though and I had to raise the level of noise to get folks to stop by and look at the game. And we did get stop and looks later when Hidden Conflict and Zombies!!! were running at the same time.
I spoke with Tim Morgan of Gary’s Games the next morning and he was pleased by the sales of Zombies!!! and Twilight related games. I showed him how to play Hidden Conflict and he came by later in the day to play Dante’s Inferno.
Dante’s Inferno was also well received. I had 6 players and got to sit and watch them play. Dang, once again a full table, no space for the DM. (yes, this is a whine, I don’t get to play, just run the darn things.).
The players had a fun time with the game and the play moved along well. The worst part was fighting the Demons and not getting their extra tokens into play fast enough. The winner of the game, Joshua Baduex, Jeremy’s brother, made a mad dash to the center and kill Lucifer one step ahead of two other players.
Zombies!!! winner Jeremy got a copy of "Say What".
Hidden Conflict winner Victoria got a copy of "Say What"
Dante’s Inferno winner, Joshua got a copy of "Award Show".
All got the catalog and the Zombie!!! Players all got promo’s.
Now, back to sleep...

NerdCon
NerdCon, October 21 and 22nd. This was a RPG type con that we were asked to attend as GURPS Masters. We showed up with a bunch of board games, including Zombies!!!, Dante's Inerno, and we added When Darkness Comes, The Horror Within and Hell Unleashed. (You have no idea how hard it was to find Hell Unleashed.)
So, we came in, 6 core Salem Midnight Crew2 Members. 4 MIB's 3 SO's, Wizards Demo Boy, 2 Looney Lab Rats and 1 semi-retired (forceabley) Minion. (Yes, the numbers don't add up, but thats ok...) We grabbed 4 Tables and started to unload our gear, when the first set of RPG's started to give us a bad time about our "games". I challenged them to a game of just "When Darkness Comes". No expansions, just the first game.
3 pm on Friday.... Till 11pm on Friday.... We played and played and played. The great thing about it was, it was different each time, all we did was add an expansion here or change them out there. All the crew rotated in and out of the game to mesh with our other games. (I'm soooooo glad that you guys have the FAQ's and keep them updated. I had downloaded the newest version before I left, I had the old one in the binder.) The players didn't want us to quit until we told them we had to get some sleep and would be back with "Darkness Before The Dawn" and "The Nameless Mist".
9am Saturday, once again, we had players and started the rotation system amongst the DM for our group, I also got to break out Dante's Inferno, when an Living GreyHawk (?) DM had to leave. So I sat and played the Devil and had a great time. Tim, Andy and Tony, got to handle WDC and Frag Zombies!!! for the most part.
Untill about 6pm when I had 8 teenagers come up and want to play a "massive" game of Zombies!!!. What the hell, lets play... I broke out everything Zombies!!! and we played. I've not had so much fun in a very long time. Twice wins were stopped by player deaths, one by someone just changing their minds and heading the other way and then the ever popular, "the keys are still in it!" end a couple of nice runs at the helio pad. Gods, this was fun, but as I was starting to lose my voice, Jake B. made a fantastic drive and won the game. I was impressed and even checked the die out so make sure that it had a 1-3 on it. ;-)
That ended our day there.... Midnight.... Everyone that played got a Zombies!!! Yo card. Jake B. , Larry K. and Matt Olson got copies of Award Show and Teri B., Jen Z. and Jack Fabin recived copies of "Say What?"

DreamCon
We rested on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, reloaded the van and headed north thursday to DreamCon in Everette WA. This was supposed to be the "restart" of a Con, but it turned out to be more of a continued 9 years later. 573 people, not bad. We snagged our standard 3 tables, grabbed a 6 ft. table and put out all the propaganda on it and went to playing. Again, the tables were busy, but we took turns playing WDC. This again, was a hoot. Lots and Lots of folks had not seen it, Dante's Inferno or Mid Evil, which we bought there. between Munchkin, Zombies!!! and Dungeoneer, my weekend was done.
Pat - Zombies!!! Base, Corp, Mall, 3.5 and The End, Massive Saturday Night Pile on.... 10 players 5 hours and Dante's Inferno was the prize.
Tim - WDC 3 games, Dante's Inferno 2 games, Mid Evil (he bought it) 1.
Andy - Frag Zombies 3 games, Zombies!!! (he played), Dante's Inferno 1 game.
Tony - Dante's Inferno 2 games. WDC 3 games and Zombies!!! he played.
So.. overall, we had one heck of a good time. We ran 34 hours out of 48. Jeremy and Michael all ran things for food breaks, bathroom runs and when the roof of the vendors area started to fall in, we all pitched in and moved the vendors to the game area, then moved our tables to the pool area and played there. That was fun!
