SURVIVORS

A SCENARIO BY MOONSYLVER

THE STORY

Hendricks gritted his teeth as he cautiously made his way into the ruins of the toy store. This was a bullshit assignment and everybody knew it. "Cappy thinks it's imperative that we search every single inhabited location within range for survivors, so we get to trot out here and risk getting the bite put on our asses by some of these dead f*@ks!" Hendricks thought savagely to himself.

As he stepped through the ruins of the front door glass, Hendricks heard a faint moan and caught a hint of movement from the corner of his eye. Turning he saw four of the zombies staggering toward him through the debris of the ruined store.

"Chew on this!" He snarled defiantly as he raised his M-16 and unleashed a sustained burst at the ghouls. The zombies twitched and jerked as the death rounds struck home, catching them in the head and ending their existence a second time.

Hendricks stepped forward cautiously, weapon held at the ready, just in case one of the dead heads decided to get up again, when he heard a soft sound coming from the office aria.

With quivering senses on full alert, he stepped through the door, gripping the rifle tighter, and saw the source of the sound.

Huddled in the corner was a small girl, whimpering softly. Hendricks stepped forward as he called out to the girl in a sotto voice "Hey, honey, I'm here to rescue you." The child seemed oblivious as Hendricks knelt and tried again. "Hey kid, my names Hendricks, I've come to rescue you."

Hendricks recoiled in horror as the girl turned to face him, her left arm missing at the shoulder and the left side of her face hanging in a ruin of tattered flesh.

His finger tightened in reflex and his '16 spat a useless burst skyward as the child lunged forward, ripping his throat out.

Hendricks would never get to file his final status report now.

No survivors here.

THE SCENARIO

In "Survivors" the players takes the part of a unit that has been dispatched to a nearby town looking for survivors…any LIVING survivors that is…….

THE SETUP

GAMEPLAY

Game play will proceed as in a normal game of "Zombies!!!" except that the goal of "Survivors" is to search each of the Named locations looking for survivors. (Except the Town Square, no refuge there!)

For each named location entered, roll 1D6 -1 after all zombies have been eliminated. The result is the number of survivors found. The survivors move with & occupy the same space as their rescuing player.

If that player is killed, all of their survivors are killed & eaten by the zombies as well. (Unless Alternate Rules are used, see below.)

Place a marker on each Named Location searched to indicate that building had been cleared.

Players must return to the chopper with their survivors in order to get credit for them. (Unless Alternate Rules are used, see below.)

Player who finds the most survivors wins!
